Volunteer Experience and Roles Taken

I believe in giving back to society through sharing my skills and expertise. That’s why over the years, I’ve always set time to work for and with organizations to mentor others as well share knowledge without pay

I render my skills voluntarily and with a lot of passion as a mentor under the MentorMe program, the largest and fastest-growing mentoring program for women and young people. I share my knowledge, professional experience and contacts with my mentees. listen to the mentees – their concerns and wishes – and respond to them in an advisory capacity.

I volunteer my skills/services as a judge in the Jack Ma Foundation’s Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) Prize Competition. ABH is a charitable program supporting African entrepreneurs.

My support will help ABH to identify their next set of ‘Africa’s Business Heroes’ finalists who will stand a chance to win up to $300,000 in grant funds, significant media exposure and training opportunities.

I am joining a community of over 500 judges from around the world who support ABH to identify and support entrepreneurs from across the African continent, every sector, and age group.

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative to empower women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings.

As a facilitator, my role involves hosting workshops and being an ambassador for #IamRemarkable within my personal and professional networks.

I am a member of Facebook Nairobi CLC. Community Leadership Circles are local chapters of Facebook groups, Page, and Event admins who meet regularly to connect and learn from one another.

The program aims to build stronger communities on and off Facebook by supporting local leaders and encouraging them to be change agents in their communities. These forums allow highly-engaged Facebook group admins to connect, share best practices and participate in workshops.

We get the opportunity to network locally with fellow admins and pick up new skills along the way. Each circle is organised and run by a local Facebook Group, Page, or Event admin and consists of an online Facebook group with offline meet-ups where we can learn and share our tips with other admins.

I’ve also worked with the following

Digital Divide Data, Africa118, Google, UNEP/UNCDE, GIZ, Rockerfeller and NORAD among others.
